Goodreads Summary- Arson Gable feels like a freak. He can create fire. He never asked for it. He never wanted it. But he can’t shut it off. Before now, three things were true: he both loved and despised his grandmother; his life was going nowhere; and he was alone. But when a strange girl–who feels more normal behind a mask than inside her own skin—moves in next door, Arson hopes to find something he’s never had: purpose. Using what he fears most about himself, Arson must face his consuming past and confront the nightmare that is his present as he walks the fine line between boy and monster. Dark, moody, and breathtakingly relevant, ARSON, the chilling chronicle of an isolated boy with unimaginable ability, is sure to ignite the hearts and minds of a new generation.

Cover Thoughts-
The cover is the strange girl's mask that Arson meets and I believe it is the perfect idea for the cover. I like it a lot.

First Thought-
Something completely new for me but still YA! I am getting tired of all the paranormal vampires and witches and zombies. I feel like my brain will explode if I don't read something new but good.

What I liked-
Arson. I love Arson. He's a 17 year old boy that doesn't act all immature and he is very sensitive. You can feel almost every emotion: Like his guilt for living when his mother died and his is pain and loss enduring his grandmother's wrath when his grandfather dies. I don't know how he supports his grandmother with they way she treats him. Then there is Emery. Her family is equally as unstable and somehow her and Arson seem to find each other. I cried once in the book when Emery finally takes her mask off and Arson tells her she is beautiful and that was diffidently my favorite part. Also the ending was very unexpected. I was blown away!

What I disliked-
I expected Emery to be a little more bitter. She is scarred and traumatized stuck in a home with no love or stability. I wanted to see her distrusting and sheltered but she just instantly bonded with Arson. I also didn't understand Mandy's part in the mix. Why would a popular girl risk her reputation with a freak and then try to burn Emery's face off...again? I guess she was a little drunk maybe but even the most harsh people aren't going to shove somebody's face in a fire. Maybe she was joking? But I have never known a teenager with everything to almost kill somebody for fun.

Overall Readability-
It was a pretty fast read. I don't think I ever read a page that didn't show real emotion. I could feel every word almost as if I was Arson but my favorite character is Emery. :) It was something new and I enjoyed it very much and I can't wait to read the next one!

My Final Thought-
Emery! Oh my gosh how could you end a book on that? Where did this come from? Must read second book! NOW!
